This fashion week I had the pleasure of being invited to AMCONYC's event. This two day event provided a platform for emerging designers as well as valuable connections for these designers to further their success. The front rows were filled with fashion bloggers, top editors and influencers from Vogue Italia, Nylon Magazine and countless others.
AMCONYC's mission, stated in their official press release, states, “Our vision is to nurture the future of fashion and foster emerging designers by offering the opportunity to reveal their unique designs and one-of-a-kind pieces". Adriana Marie, founder of AMCONYC says, "As a former designer myself, I can relate and understand every aspect and concern the designers have. That's what sets us apart. We don't believe in providing just a showcase; AMCONYC believes in working with emerging and independent designers to build the foundation of their brands and the future of fashion."
This event was just that. A powerful foundation and celebration of designers with immense talent and potential to make it big in the world of fashion.
Walking into Studio 450's bright and airy space, I was greeted and ushered into AMCONYC's sponsor Sasha Cosmetics' beauty lounge. The space included full length selfie mirrors and a full staff from Sasha Cosmetics to do makeup touchups and hand out gift bags to guests.
Hair for all 6 designers was done by Aveda and makeup was done by Sacha Cosmetics. Both Aveda and Sacha helped bring the designers distinct and creative visions to life. Above is some bts images of the models getting ready for Atelier Kate's SS18 runway show.
I had the pleasure of attending 4 of the 6 designer's shows.

Using her power from leaving her abusive husband, Kate created a powerful ready to buy collection that celebrates the strength of being a woman with a rich color pallet and empowering shapes. A portion of every sale from this NYFW will go to charities dedicated to help survivors of domestic violence.

Zulla's SS18 collection's color pallet of blues and greens and fluid ocean lines made for a beautifully cohesive collection. Delicate beading and woven work made its way down the runway.

As an emerging stylist and blogger myself, I have a great love and appreciation for emerging designers. How exciting is it to watch designers grow and succeed season after season. I love what AMCONYC is doing for these fresh talents. I am very excited to see what AMCONYC has in store for the future fashion weeks to come.
